“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” was Jesus’ first recorded citation of Scripture (Matthew 4:4). It summarizes the “jot and tittle” love and respect that Jesus had for God’s word and His utter submissiveness to it.

It is the pilgrim’s map, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword. It contains all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).
