Satan is the master of deception. He is highly skilled at baiting the hook of temptation and convincing you there is nothing inappropriate with disobeying God. Sometimes, Satan’s deception is subtle; sometimes it is not.
It is a blatant lie to believe that the unrighteous will inherit the kingdom of God. Be not deceived: “Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
It is a blatant lie to believe that false doctrine will not destroy holy living. Be not deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits” (1 Corinthians 15:33).
It is a blatant lie to believe that God can be mocked. Be not deceived: “whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life” (Galatians 6:7-8).
It is a blatant lie to believe that the holy God is in any way responsible for your temptation and sin. Be not deceived: “God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone…Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:13, 17).
“Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren” (James 1:16).
