“For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, ‘The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me’” (Romans 15:3).
Only a love of incomprehensible dimensions (Ephesians 3:18-19) would compel One being in the form of God to lay aside the heavenly prerogatives of deity, take the form of a bond servant, come in the likeness of men, and humble Himself in obedience to the point of death on the cross (Philippians 2:6-8).
Only a love of incomprehensible proportions would exercise self-denial to the point that He willingly placed Himself between the wrath of God against all human ungodliness and unrighteousness and those guilty of all this ungodliness and unrighteousness, and thus be the propitiation for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2).
Only a zeal of incomprehensible degree for God and His house (Psalm 69:9) would have exercised such self-denial that He in His person would willingly bear the reproaches of those who reproached God and endure such hostility of sinners against Himself (Hebrews 12:3).
If Christ exercised such love and self-denial for your salvation and the redemption of every one of your brethren in the faith, we who are strong surely ought to bear with the scruples of the weak in matters of conscience.
