Jesus Loves Me, This I Know–Part Three

 

          “that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge” (Ephesians 3:17-19).

          Jesus loves me, this I know because His exaltation tells me of the height of His love. God “has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).

          Baptism doth now save us (1 Peter 3:21) because the King of kings and Lord of lords decrees it so (Mark 16:16). Since He has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God with angels, authorities, and powers being made subject to Him (1 Peter 3:22), no one in heaven or earth can countermand His decree.

          Obedience to Him and His gospel raises us up together with Him and makes us sit together in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:7). Continued obedience brings the absolute certainty of spiritual victory (Romans 8:37). No authority is higher than Christ’s

          Oh, the height of Jesus’ love!
