God’s Marvelous Mystery–Part Four

New Testament Christianity—the redemption of humanity in Christ Jesus—is God’s marvelous mystery. It was hidden in God from the beginning of the ages. But now, the mystery has been revealed. Now, the manifold wisdom of God is made “known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Ephesians 3:10-11).

The unsearchable riches of Christ found in the gospel decisively demonstrate “the depths of the wisdom and knowledge of God” (Romans 11:33). The eternal purpose conclusively proves “How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor? Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?” (Romans 11:33-35).

The church to which Jesus adds all the saved (Acts 2:47) and over which He is head in all things (Ephesians 1:22-23) makes known the manifold/multi-faceted wisdom of God.

That scarlet thread of redemption which is clearly woven into the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation brilliantly demonstrates the manifold/multi-faceted wisdom of God.

That scarlet thread of redemption which is humanity’s lone line of rescue from Paradise Lost in the Garden of Eden to Paradise Regained in the new heaven and new earth clearly proves the manifold/multi-faceted wisdom of God.

God’s final creation on this earth was not the bride He made for Adam from his rib (Genesis 2:18-25). It was the bride He made for the second Adam when from His riven side came water and blood. The church—saved by water and the blood and the recipient of the unsearchable riches of Christ—was eternally purposed by God and is the crowning proof of His marvelous mystery and manifold/multi-faceted wisdom.
