“esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt…” (Hebrews 11:26).
The best historians can determine: Moses and the Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun lived less than one hundred years apart.
This is helpful to know because it provides a glimpse into and commentary on the “treasures in Egypt” which Moses turned his back on when he “refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter”. Though quite young when he died (around the age of 18), King Tut was buried with an impressive amount of material wealth and opulence. This is what Moses refused.
By worldly standards, King Tut with his power and wealth would thought to be destined for a far greater legacy than Moses could ever had imagined. Yet, in the three millennia since their appearances on the stage of history, which man has had the greater impact on humanity?
