“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin” (James 4:17).
Few things create greater anguish in the heart and burden on the soul than doing something foolish which you knew better than to do. What agony haunts the one who says:

“I knew it was wrong, but I did it anyway.”

“I’ve made that mistake before, so I knew better; yet, I still did it.”

“I had plenty of opportunities to learn from my mistakes, but I didn’t and now I have these unceasing regrets.”
“Woulda/coulda/shoulda” will not remove the guilt and remorse of knowing to do good but not doing it.
In hell, the most gut-wrenching weeping, the loudest wailing, and the most vigorous gnashing of teeth will come from those who sinned against knowledge in their lives and have an eternity to grieve over it.
Beware of the horrific peril of sinning against knowledge.
