The Incredible Strength of Wisdom

“A wise man is strong; yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; for by wise counsel you will wage your own war and in a multitude of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 24:5-6).

Wisdom has its own set of blessings, one of which is its incredible strength. For example, a wise person has self-control; he has power over his impulses. This is a decided advantage over a fool who has no self-restraint (Prov. 25:28). A wise person is slow to anger; he has power over his emotions. This is a decided advantage over one who is a hothead (Prov. 14:29). A wise person cultivates the fear of God in his heart; thus, he does more than to think and live in the moment (Prov. 20:25). This is a decided advantage over the fool who does not.

Because of the incredible strength wisdom supplies, the one who lives wisely is able to live victoriously in the ongoing war of good against evil. In Christ, the wise can be more than conquerors (Rom. 8:37).
