“Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established. By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches” (Proverbs 24:3-4).
Character formation is the single most important function of parenting. Foolish parents disregard this; wise ones do not (Prov. 14:1). Constructing a child’s character so that it is saturated with humility, integrity, perseverance, godliness, kindness, and compassion is the incredible challenge and epic responsibility of parenting.
Wisdom, understanding, and knowledge are essential to good and godly parenting. At the foundation of wisdom is obedience to God’s word (Mat. 7:24-25) which arises from a proper reverence for God (Prov. 9:10). Understanding the nature and spiritual needs of a child (Prov. 22:15, 23:13-14, 29:15) is essential to training him up in the way he should go. Knowledge of God and the word of His grace enriches your home with spiritual blessings which are vastly superior to any rival.
Blessed be all wise home builders.
