“Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and not be heard” (Proverbs 21:13).
Divine justice is a sobering and momentous reality. God’s wrath against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men is real. It is one of the essential reasons for the coming of Christ’s gospel which provides a way of salvation from it.
All of Jehovah’s ways and works are just (Dan. 9:14). A God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He (Deut. 32:4). Because His right hand is full of righteousness (Ps. 48:10), He overthrows the wicked for their wickedness (Prov. 21:12).
It is a righteous thing with God to repay whoever is blind and deaf to the need and pleas for mercy from others with the same response from Him. Jesus Himself affirmed this when He spoke of the rich man who chose to be blind and deaf to the needs of a destitute beggar who sat at his front gate (Luke 16:19-26).
God does not desire any of the wicked to perish (2 Pet. 3:9). This should not be wildly misconstrued into thinking that none of the wicked will perish. On the contrary, all of the wicked will perish, especially those who have the ability and opportunity to do good and choose to not do it.
