“A righteous man regards the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel” (Proverbs 12:10).
Not only is a person’s character revealed in the way he treats his fellow humans, it also is seen in his treatment of the other creatures God has put upon our planet. As a conscientious steward of God’s blessings, a righteous man does not mistreat any of his livestock and pets. Though God has given him dominion over them, he does not have divine permission to mistreat these blessings from Him. Therefore, a person with righteous character regards the health and well-being of his animals.
Not so with the unrighteous. Their contempt for life made by the divine Creator is indiscriminate. They are equally cruel to humans and animals. Because of their brazen selfishness and wickedness, people are used by them to be the butt of a joke or prank. Even their “mercy” is fake and poisoned with the perverse desire to inflict pain or embarrassment on another.
The unrighteous are nasty to all, even their loved ones. What a glaring difference.
It is shameful the mistreatment some direct toward others. Overt ime I have been the recipiant of numerous insults.
