A Man and His Adjective

“A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but a man of wicked intentions He will condemn” (Proverbs 12:2).

Every person has utter freedom of choice to decide the adjective God will accurately attach to him. Calvinism—which decrees that God immutably decided the character and destiny for each of us before the creation of the human race—is false. Astrology and other superstitions—which posit that “fate” or some other unnamed irresistible force has determined the content of your character—are false. You, and you alone, are the ultimate decision-maker of the adjective which God will use to accurately describe you.

This proverb encapsulates your two options as “good” or “wicked”. If you wisely choose to pursue goodness in obedience to God and His will, you will receive Jehovah’s favor. If you foolishly prefer wickedness in disobedience to God, He will condemn you.

          “Good” or “Wicked”.

          Which adjective are you pursuing?
