“By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore, from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore” (Hebrews 11:11-12).
Because Jehovah is exceedingly great, He makes exceedingly great and precious promises and then keeps them.
Over four thousand years ago He promised Noah and his family that He would never again flood the entire earth with water, and He has been faithful to His word.
Jehovah promised the land of Canaan to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Deuteronomy 19:8), and He was faithful to His word (Joshua 21:43).
Solomon was promised wisdom (1 Kings 5:12), and God was faithful to His word (1 Kings 10:23-24).
The Lord of hosts spoke promises to David with His mouth and fulfilled them with His hand (1 Kings 8:24), because He was faithful to His word.
Not one word failed of all the good God promised through Moses (1 Kings 8:56). He was faithful to His word.
Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to His apostles after His resurrection and ascension (Luke 24:49; John 14:16-18), and He sent Him (Acts 2:33). He was faithful to His word.
In the Holy Scriptures God promised the gospel through His prophets (Romans 1:2-3), and He was faithful to His word.
The God who cannot lie (Titus 1:2) is faithful to His every promise (Hebrews 10:23). So, at the age of 99, Sarah recognized this truth and by faith embraced His promise of a son. A year later, she embraced her newborn son.
Judging God to be faithful is what the faith filled do.
