“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures” (James 4:1-3).
The demonic wisdom which envies and is self-seeking spawns unending conflict. This focus on sensual, earthly things creates a mindset best described as worldliness. Me, Myself, and I are its unholy trinity.
Wars, fights and quarrels, unsatisfied lusts for things, power and/or pleasure, and raw, unbridled selfishness are symptoms of this unholy spiritual cancer.
Internal spiritual warfare results in external physical warfare between nations and angry emotional conflicts between people. This is the inevitable result when the fruit of righteousness is not sown in peace by those who make peace.
