“Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight” (Proverbs 11:1).
It is impossible to be righteous and dishonest.
A business transaction which defrauds another is anathema to God. So are a lie which impugns one’s character and gossip which besmirches another’s reputation.
Those who conduct their business honestly and fairly delight Jehovah. You are not loving your neighbor as yourself when you’re defrauding him (Romans 13:9).
To be righteous you must be honest.
