“Listen to counsel and receive instruction that you may be wise in your latter days” (Proverbs 19:20).
Life can only be lived one day at a time. To live your life wisely you have to live each day purposefully. Make each day your masterpiece.
Every decision made today will have lasting impact on every tomorrow and your eternity. Many people shortsightedly live with only today in focus. Others are stuck in reliving the past. Some are anxious and fretful about tomorrow while sleepwalking through today.
A wise person listens to counsel and receives instruction today, so he can be better and wiser tomorrow. Wise habits in your earlier years build a storehouse of wisdom for your later years. Make the most of each day but do so wisely so you can enjoy the harvest of wisdom in your latter days.
When you cease listening to the instruction of wisdom as a young man, you will stray from the healthy words of knowledge (Prov. 19:27). Few things bankrupt your future as thoroughly as a lack of wisdom.
