“But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death” (James 1:14-15).
When the egg of human desire has been fertilized by disobedience—instead of obedience—to God’s will sin has been conceived. At this point in sin’s pathology, a most important question arises—Will this evil embryo be aborted or allowed to mature and be born?
To be enticed by Satan’s baited hook is to be living proof that you are human. Eve was drawn away by doubt and enticed by fruit which looked good for food (Genesis 3:1-6). King Saul was drawn away by fear and enticed by presumption (1 Samuel 13:5-13), then he was drawn away by peer pressure and enticed by partial obedience (1 Samuel 15:1-24). Ananias and Sapphira were drawn away by a desire to impress others and enticed by greed (Acts 5:1-11).
Once Satan has found a weakness and enticed you, you decide whether this evil product of conception is aborted or carried to term. To be sinless like Christ, abortion is the only solution. Allowing the embryo of temptation to mature to the point of birth is every sinner’s downfall.
