“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?’ ‘Or who has first given to Him, and it shall be repaid to him?’ For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen” (Romans 11:33-36).
A doxology is a hymn which explodes with God’s praise. It is the only appropriate conclusion any rational creature can have after a careful analysis of the gospel of Christ.
God’s praise is to be extolled by all because of the profound wisdom which eternally purposed and meticulously implemented humanity’s salvation.
God’s praise is to be extolled by all because of the vast treasury of knowledge and foreknowledge that is the indispensable bedrock of the gospel.
God’s praise is to be extolled by all because of the brilliancy of salvation’s architecture and the profundity of salvation’s engineering.
Though promised, foreshadowed, and predicted throughout the Old Testament, no one—mortal or angel—had solved the mystery and figured out its fulfillment in the gospel. God’s judgment on sin, death, Hades, and all the other works of the devil were beyond the scope of any created being’s ability to discover.
Praise God from whom all spiritual blessings flow.
Romans 11:36 is one of the greatest statements of God’s all-encompassing providence to be found in scripture. I am enjoying your Romans work. God bless.
Thank you
