There are several blessings God gives His children which are enjoyed in this life to some degree and will be enjoyed in the life to come in an unlimited way.
Fellowship with God is an example. Because of the trials and tribulations of this life, fellowship with God has its peaks and valleys. It has its rough patches and splinters. Prayer also has its seasons. In the life to come, however, there will be nothing but unbroken, rich fellowship. This life’s ideal will be reality in the life to come.
Eternal life is something a Christian begins enjoying while living on this earth. It is enjoyed, however, in its embryonic stage; its initial first fruits are experienced here and now. (See yesterday’s post). In the life to come, the full expression of eternal life is enjoyed. Because of its pristine quality, it will be endless in quantity.
This living hope of being like God (1 John 3:2), transformed by His power into conformity to Christ and His glorious body (Philippians 3:21) with an incorruptible, undefiled, fadeless inheritance of life and glory is the soul’s anchor in this life (Hebrews 67:19). It is this hope of eternal life which the God who cannot lie promised before time began (Titus 1:22).
By rejecting God’s gracious gift of eternal life, you are choosing to refuse His offer of the abundant life (John 10:10) here and everlasting life with glory, honor, and immortality (Romans 2:7) in the hereafter.
