A Glaring Difference

“Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in deep darkness” (Proverbs 20:20).

In the religion of Islam, there is a fundamental prejudice against females. Women are considered and treated as inherently inferior to men. This is not subtle chauvinism.

If the Koran contained this proverb, it would never use the phrase “or his mother”. Muhammed’s man-made religion has little, if any, concern for how a child—especially a son—treats his mother. Disrespect for his father is a severe transgression; disrespect for his mother is insignificant. Not so in the divinely inspired Scriptures.

Emphasized below is the Bible’s repeated and glaring rejection of Islam’s chauvinism:

  • “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you” (Ex. 20:12).
  • “And he who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death” (Ex. 21:15).
  • “And he who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death” (Ex. 21:17).
  • “Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father…I amthe Lord your God” (Lev. 19:3).
  • “For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. His blood shall beupon him” (Lev. 20:9).
  • “Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you…” (Deut. 5:16).
  • “If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not heed them…” (Deut. 21:18).
  • “Cursed isthe one who treats his father or his mother with contempt” (Deut. 27:16).
  • “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise…” (Eph. 6:2).

These “or”s and “and”s clearly demonstrate a glaring difference.
