“Much food is in the fallow ground of the poor, and for lack of justice there is waste” (Proverbs 13:23).
Righteousness exalts a nation (Prov. 14:33). When a nation is governed by just laws and fair judges who rule impartially, there is much fertile ground for the rightful creation and growth of personal wealth. When a man can receive the full benefit of the “sweat equity” he puts into his work, he can turn the potential of fallow ground into productive growth.
Legislative and judicial injustice destroys it all. Injustice decimates the incentive to work. Injustice devastates the possibility of economic production and growth. Injustice is a potent waster of potential.
Numerous countries around the world today are blighted economically because of their corrupt and unjust leaders. Multitudes live in squalor and abject poverty because of the lavish lifestyles of their wicked politicians. Injustice and a nation’s GDP are inextricably linked.
