“The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous will come through trouble. A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him” (Proverbs 12:13-14).
In a world of cause and effect, we always have to “eat our words”. For the wicked, this means his sinful lips today will ensnare his life tomorrow with just consequences. For the righteous, this means his gracious speech today will bless his life tomorrow with goodness.
God is not mocked. The quality of the seeds your tongue sows today, you will reap in the future. Wicked lips will bear the fruit of being ensnared in transgression. Righteous lips will bear the fruit of satisfying goodness.
You will reap what you have sown. Every. Time.
