“not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25).
All examples in Scripture deserve careful consideration. Good examples are to be examined thoughtfully and imitated. Bad examples ought to be scrutinized so that wisdom is gleaned from them.
The example—or manner—of some is under consideration in this passage, and a cautionary warning is issued by the inspired writer.
Forsaking the weekly worship assembly is a nasty habit (see yesterday’s post) which some in spiritual Israel had become enslaved to.
It is not a good example to imitate. It is a bad example which deserves complete repudiation.
