“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession” (Hebrews 4:14).
The most important truth of life is that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. Your sincere statement of this truth is essential to salvation (Romans 10:10), because it is the content of the good confession (1 Timothy 6:12).
In holding fast to this truth, Jesus suffered severely and died by crucifixion. He refused to compromise it in any way. In like manner, when confessed by your lips from a heart full of faith, it is a Christian’s lifelong non-negotiable.
The truth that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and your confession of it must be held on to at all costs. There is no wiggle room. You must cling tenaciously, even to the point of death (Revelation 2:10).
No truth should be sanctified in your heart more reverently or held by your will more tenaciously than your confession of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
