“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity…” (James 3:6).
Because of your tongue’s immense power and potential for evil, Satan has concocted a vast number of different ways to sin using your mouth. He has created a world of iniquity for your tongue.
You can sin with your tongue by flattering, gossiping, boasting, slandering, grumbling, lying, complaining, backbiting, swearing, vain speech/empty words, deceiving, demeaning, criticizing, ridiculing, and blaspheming.
Even though your tongue is a little part of your body, it can quickly plunge you into Satan’s infernal world of iniquity.
If you think yourself to be righteous before God but do not bridle your tongue, you deceive your own heart and your religion is useless (James 1:26).
Beware of Satan’s world of iniquity.
