The Genuine Religion of Peace

Unlike any other religion, Christianity was founded by the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) who gave the gospel of peace (Romans 10:15).  And, when a disciple of Jesus has the right view of God, self, and sin, the right use of his will, the right focus of his passion, and the right heart toward others and God, he is fully equipped to be a peacemaker.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9).

The word “peacemaker” says a mouthful.  First, it implies a situation of estrangement which desperately requires reconciliation.  Second, it states the fact that peace must be pursued, then hammered out righteously.  Genuine peace is not made through the toleration or appeasement of evil.  Third, true peace is possible; it is not some utopic nonsense.  Shalom (i.e. completeness) can be experienced in your life.  Peace is far more than just the absence of conflict; it is life at its best—a well-being of soul and mind.

The Scriptures are quite clear: God’s way of making peace cannot be compromised or improved, and only God’s way of making peace will bring about genuine results.

Christianity, not Islam or any other pretender, is the genuine religion of peace.

Christians are the children of God.
