Genuine Spiritual Needs–Part Six

Inner strength. An indwelling Savior. Being rooted and grounded in love. Comprehending the incomprehensible love of God. Knowing the love of Christ. When enumerating our genuine spiritual needs, Jehovah is not superficial in His thoughts about them nor does He see as humanity does.

What human would have the audacity to place as the final, crowning spiritual need what Paul’s inspired quill writes in Ephesians 3:19—“that you may be filled with all the fullness of God”?

As David pondered in Psalm 8 three millennia ago—What is man in a universe bespangled with the sun, moon, and stars? Of all Jehovah’s astonishing creatures—the sheep, oxen, beasts of the fields, birds of the air, fish of the sea which pass through the paths of the sea—only humans have the capacity to be filled with all the fullness of God.

This is God’s end game. This is His eternally purposed aim for you.

The immortal goal of His plan of salvation is not some cleverly devised fable, or some mirage in an oasis-less desert. He can do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that already works in us (Ephesians 3:20).

“Filled with all the fullness of God” is God’s greatest transformative challenge. It is also your greatest spiritual need.

I pray that the eyes of your understanding can see this and be ever focused upon it.
