“A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who speaks lies will not escape…A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who speaks lies shall perish” (Proverbs 19:5, 9).
The testimony of Scripture is unchanging: ALL liars will be justly punished by the righteous God of heaven. No false witness will go unpunished. Every liar will perish; not one will escape. Writing about a thousand years after Solomon, the apostle John transcribed these words of the One who sits on heaven’s throne: “all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Rev. 21:8).
The omniscient God of truth has been, is, and always will be the righteous enemy and ultimate Judge of all falsehood, the source of which is the devil (John 8:44). To get wisdom you must so love your own soul that you buy the truth and sell it not (Prov. 23:23). The father of lies and all his children will not escape God’s wrath; he who believes and speaks lies shall perish.
