“Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge, and he sins who hastens with his feet” (Proverbs 19:2).
The word “agnostic” means “without knowledge”. In the question of the existence of God, some people have foolishly thought themselves wise by claiming to be agnostic—neither an atheist nor a believer. To them, this brilliant decision makes them intellectually superior to those who brazenly state there is no God and those who recklessly believe there is one.
Not only is atheism foolish (Ps. 14:1), agnosticism is equally so. The evidence for God’s existence—His invisible attributes—have been manifest since the creation of the world (Rom. 1:20). Atheism (which denies the abundant evidence) and agnosticism (which declares there is not enough evidence) are both dishonest with the sufficient evidence. Both are ignorance in its worst and most dangerous forms.
Agnosticism is not good for your soul. This sin is just as lethal spiritually as the vile lifestyle of those who are morally bankrupt and hasten to plunge headlong into sin.
Beware of agnosticism.
