“The Lord has made all for Himself; yes, even the wicked for the day of doom” (Proverbs 16:4).
The ultimate victory and eternal bliss of the righteous in heaven is the final and eternal proclamation of God’s sovereignty and supremacy. The ultimate defeat and eternal punishment of the unrighteous in hell is also the final and eternal proclamation of God’s sovereignty and supremacy.
Just like heaven, hell is a place God has prepared for its eternal residents (Mat. 25:34, 41). Every human (2 Cor. 5:10) and angelic (Jude 6) creature is accountable to God and His authority (Rev. 20:10-15). This fact of universal accountability to God—of both the righteous and unrighteous—is an incontrovertible proof of Jehovah’s glory and supremacy over every one of His creatures.
Even the wicked on the day they are sentenced to eternal condemnation in the horrific place called Gehenna will be a testament that God is not mocked. His sovereignty and supremacy are universal. Accountability to Him is unavoidable.
The wise soberly and diligently attend to this truth; the foolish do not.
