“The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, but the stomach of the wicked shall be in want” (Proverbs 13:25).
The most valuable things in life are not things and cannot be purchased with any amount of money. Eating a simple meal with loved ones after a long day of honest toil is far better than a seven-course meal where strife and rancor pollute the ambiance (Prov. 15:17 17:1). Being happily married to a virtuous woman is vastly superior to having a contentious and angry wife (Prov. 21:9, 19; 25:24). Refusing to compromise your integrity and self-respect is eminently more valuable than great wealth (Prov. 28:6).
Godliness with contentment is great (mega) gain (1 Tim. 6:6). Enjoying a meal without having any of the digestive problems caused by stress, anxiety, wrath, fear, and guilt is one of the many simple pleasures the righteous enjoy. When the stomach is satiated and the soul is satisfied, you are living the good life.
