The Law of Wisdom

“The law of the wise is a fountain of life to turn one away from the snares of death” (Proverbs 13:14).

Laws are an important and essential fact of life. Without the “laws of nature” governing our physical world, life would be chaotic and maddening. Without laws governing the spiritual world, life could not be lived by faith or with any sense of certainty. What a horrific existence it would be without divine laws.

Living wisely requires no speculation. It is not a matter of personal trial and error. There are certain things you must learn and do. When the law of wisdom (reverence for God, loving obedience to His will, and living righteously) is followed closely and consistently, the abundant life is enjoyed. It is like an ever-flowing spring of cool, clear, refreshing water. It is a safe path in a wilderness filled with predators passionately desiring your ruin.

Refreshment and safety are two of the blessings received by those who live according to the law of wisdom.
