Righteousness and Wisdom

“The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright, but the wicked will fall by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, but the unfaithful will be caught by their lust” (Proverbs 11:3-6).

Biblically-speaking, it is impossible to be wise without being righteous. Wisdom and uprightness are inseparable.

With over fifty proverbs trumpeting this truth, the extreme importance of living uprightly is clear. This cluster of four proverbs is saturated with this sane and sage counsel.

The upright walk with integrity and live blamelessly; they are delivered from unrighteousness and its ultimate outcome–spiritual death.

Riches cannot do this for you. Folly, perversity, and unfaithfulness will not, either.

“Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless, but wickedness overthrows the sinner” (Proverbs 13:6). EVERY time.
