Pride or Humility

“When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom…Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall…Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, and before honor is humility…A man’s pride will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor” (Proverbs 11:2, 16:18, 18:12, 29:23).

No good fruit grows on the noxious weed of pride. As stated above: shame, stumbling, humiliation, and destruction are four of the noxious harvests this snare of the devil produces. The endless cacophony of Gehenna–crushing torment, weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth–is sobering and eternal proof of the extreme danger of human pride.

Instead, choose humility and enjoy the wisdom and honor it crowns everyone who possesses it.

Your options cannot be more clear and more significant. Choose wisely.
