The Judge of All

“… to God the Judge of all…” (Hebrews 12:23).

There are many Bible descriptors of the God who is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. “The Judge of all” is, therefore, a most appropriate one.

When informed of Jehovah’s impending obliteration of Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham rightly acknowledged Him as “the judge of all the earth” (Genesis 18:25).

In her prayer of thanksgiving for Samuel, Hannah recognized Jehovah’s omnipresence when she declared Him to be the One who will “judge the ends of the earth” (1 Samuel 2:10).

In his cry for God’s just vengeance and punishment of the proud and wicked, the psalmist acknowledged God’s sovereignty when He beseeched the “judge of the earth” to rise up and take action (Psalm 94:2).

Because of His omnipresence, omniscience, sovereignty, and righteousness, Jehovah rightfully is the judge of all.

Therefore, we should not marvel at the fact that “the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation” (John 5:28-29).

Jehovah is the Judge of all.
