“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
Though God Himself is invisible to human eyes, His divine attributes can be clearly seen in creation (Romans 1:20). Abundant proof which demonstrates God is exists (see Tuesday’s post).
Exercising the proper faith in God so that you enjoy His fellowship and friendship does not happen accidentally. God must be sought, though He is not far from anyone (Acts 17:27).
The verb used here (ekzeteo) is a vigorous one. It portrays someone who craves and investigates, searching with strenuous effort. It combines the verbs ask, seek, and knock of Matthew 7:7 into one mega-verb: a persistent determination to find and approach God reverently and obediently.
Just as righteousness must be craved with intense spiritual hunger and thirst (Matthew 5:6), fellowship with Jehovah by faith ought to be strenuously pursued also.
Passionately and persistently seek God. Not because He is lost, but because you are without Him.
