“Today, if you will hear His voice: ‘Do not harden your hearts…’” (Psalm 95:7-8; Hebrews 4:7).
There is a timeless truth about today: You have two possible ways you can respond to God’s word—you can hear His voice, or you can harden your heart.
This is timeless because it was true in David’s day (Psalm 95:7-8) about 3,000 years ago; it was true in the writer of Hebrews’ day (Hebrews 3:7-8, 15) about 2,000 years ago; and it remains true on this day in human history (Hebrews 4:7).
To hear God’s voice is to listen attentively and respond in careful obedience to God’s word. To harden your heart is to expose the evil of unbelief which rules your life because it has been ravaged by the deceitfulness of sin.
Hear or Harden.
What is your response to God’s word today?
