Daniel’s night vision recorded in Daniel 7:13-14 is quite stunning. Here, it is written: “I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed.”
The apostle Paul affirms God’s fulfillment of this vision when he wrote: “according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:19-23).
Because Jesus made Himself of no reputation, took the role of a bondservant in submitting completely to God’s will and humanity’s need, and then humbled Himself to the point of death by crucifixion, God has highly exalted Him. Christ has been crowned the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords (1 Timothy 6:15).
His exaltation is so great and glorious that when the disciple whom Jesus loved saw Him in a vision on the isle of Patmos, he fell at his feet as a dead man (Revelation 1:12-17).
Because of Christ’s incomprehensible glory, every created being of the heavenly city—the innumerable angelic host around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders—say with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” (Revelation 5:11-12).
Christ in omnipotent authority rules heaven and earth (Matthew 28:18). At His glorious name, every knee shall bow in honor of His sovereignty over them and every tongue shall confess the truth: Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11).
NOW is the time to be vigorously preparing for the day you stand alone before His great white throne and judgment seat to receive the just recompense for the things you did while living on this earth.
