“He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses correction goes astray” (Proverbs 10:17).
Spiritually speaking, a truly educated person is like a son who heeds his father’s instruction, like a disciple whose life follows his master’s teaching and imitates his example. He who keeps this instruction is in the way of life.
Regardless of whether this instruction has come by verbal teaching or painful correction, it has been attended to and heeded. It has not been refused and rejected. He who refuses correction goes astray.
A truly educated person lives a God centered life.
