“Why is there in the hand of a fool the purchase price of wisdom, since he has no heart for it?” (Proverbs 17:16).
It has been said that “an atheist cannot find any evidence of God for the same reason a thief cannot find a policeman.”
You gotta wanna.
Being foolish is a choice. Its point of origin is in the decision to believe there is no God (Ps. 14:1; 53:1). Since God’s invisible attributes are clearly seen in the universe He created (Rom. 1:20), the fool chooses to ignore the irresistible and sure inference found in the profuse amount of design in our cause-and-effect world.
On one occasion, atheist Aldous Huxley (1894-1963) said the quiet part out loud. He admitted that he was an atheist because he did not want any deity placing restrictions on his sexual desires. His candor can be appreciated, but not the folly of his decision.
In his own words, Huxley condemns himself and the folly of his decision to be an atheist. He stated, “Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored” and “Experience teaches only the teachable.”
The Scriptures concur. God does not cease to exist because Aldous Huxley or anyone else chooses to ignore His fingerprints saturating our world. A fool will never be wise, because he has no desire for it.
Don’t be a heartless fool.
