Perversion God Abominates

“He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord…Whoever rewards evil for good, evil will not depart from his house” (Proverbs 17:15, 13).

Isaiah pronounces a divine woe upon “those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (5:20). Some people choose to be for everything God loathes and against everything God loves. Such perversion God abominates.

Justifying the wicked, condemning the just, rewarding evil for good is reprehensible, and God assures all—the good and evil alike—that they who sow evil will reap it.

Do not be deceived. God will not be mocked. Evil people will reap what they sow (Gal. 6:7). The ultimate assurance of Galatians 6:7 is twofold: 1) God’s creation of hell—the everlasting fire He created for the devil and his allies (Mat. 25:41); and 2) God’s written declaration that the devil and all his allies will be judged and cast into the lake of fire and brimstone (Rev. 20:10-15).

The wise course of action, therefore, is to abhor what is evil and cling to what is good (Rom. 12:9).
