The Omnipresence and Omniscience of the Righteous God

“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3).

Because Jehovah is everywhere (omnipresent), He is all knowing (omniscient). Because God is righteous, His omniscience ever discerns between good and evil behavior. An accurate understanding of these basic theological truths is an essential foundation to wise and righteous living.

It is the height of folly to believe:

  • The God whose eyes are in every place does not see your actions. The wicked foolishly believe that “The Lord does not see, nor does the God of Jacob understand” (Ps. 94:7).
  • The omniscient God does not discern evil/wicked thoughts when, in fact, “The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord” (Prov. 15:26).
  • The all-knowing God does not know when the wicked have wicked motives; He does: “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more when he brings it with wicked intent!” (Prov. 15:26).
  • The God who keeps watch on the evil and the good and who “will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil” is blind or apathetic to your wickedness (Ez. 8:12; 9:9).

Jehovah has no blind eyes. He sees all and is a rewarder of all, both the evil and the good.
