“By pride comes nothing but strife, but with the well-advised is wisdom…He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered” (Proverbs 13:10; 28:25).
Being good for nothing is bad, but being worse than good for nothing is “badder”. This is the disgusting level of evil that pride is on.
Pride is the spiritually folly which stubbornly believes no one can have advice which is comparable or superior to one’s own. Pride is this big spoon which stirs up strife and leaves nothing but fighting and destruction in its wake. The seeds of pride always mature into a harvest of conflict, heartaches, and folly.
Not so with those who trust in the Lord and His wisdom. They willingly seek and receive wise counsel and then act accordingly. They will be prospered. The seeds of humble faith always mature into a harvest of peace, joy, and divine blessing.
Cursed by pride or blessed by humble faith.
