The Sanctity of Marriage

“Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4).

Because Jehovah is the One who created humanity with two sexes–male and female, so a man and a woman could enter the sacred state of matrimony, marriage is honorable.

Because Jehovah created the sacred institution for the entire human race, marriage is honorable among all people in every nation. It is not a church institution.

Because Jehovah has authorized the expression of human sexuality solely within the sacred bonds of matrimony, the marriage bed (I.e., sexual intercourse) is to never be defiled by premarital or extramarital sex.

Because of the exalted sanctity of marriage as conceived and created by God, every sexually defiled person will face God’s wrath in judgment (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21).

It bears repeating: “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”
