“but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses” (Hebrews 10:27-28).
Sufficient proof of God’s fiery indignation exists. There are: Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18:24); Nadab and Abihu (Leviticus 10:2); the complainers at Taberah (Numbers 11:1); and 250 presumptuous men offering incense as priests (Numbers 16:35).
In addition, the divine prescription for fiery punishment is also prescribed in the Old Testament. At Mount Sinai, the golden calf was burned with fire (Exodus 32:20). A man who marries a woman and her mother (Leviticus 20:14) and a daughter of any priest who profanes herself by playing the harlot (Leviticus 21:9) were all to be burned with fire.
God’s unquenchable (Matthew 3:12), everlasting (Matthew 18:8), furnace/lake of fire (Matthew 13:42; Revelation 20:10) is His permanent punishment of every one of His adversaries (Revelation 20:10-15).
Jehovah’s fiery indignation is real.
