“My ears You have opened…a body You have prepared for Me” (Psalm 40:6; Hebrews 10:5).
The Hebrew word is karah, “to dig, excavate, dig through”. Literally translated, Psalm 40:6 reads: “ears Thou hast dug for me.” It explains why Jesus’ used His body in perfect obedience to His Father’s will.
Jesus never had any spiritual earwax. At no time in His life did He ever have something hindering His hearing of God’s will. His ears never became “hard of hearing” (Matthew 13:15) or “dull of hearing” (Hebrews 5:11). He was constantly alert to the message of every jot and tittle of God’s word.
His lack of spiritual earwax is why Jesus successfully came and did God’s will, just as David prophesied.
