“And for this reason, He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance” (Hebrews 9:15).
Defining victory is an essential part of military planning and strategy. When the Godhead eternally purposed its war strategy for utterly conquering evil, how did the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit define success? What is the bottom line of God’s eternal purpose?
The answer to this vital question could not be stated more clearly than with the words of Hebrews 9:15. The reason why Jehovah wove the scarlet thread of redemption into human history is so that there would be an eternal inheritance for all the redeemed.
Heaven awaits all who fight the good fight, finish the course, and keep the faith. By being a faithful son of God in this life, you will become Jehovah’s heir in the life to come. You will be given an eternal inheritance.
Everyone else will be eternally punished in hell. This is not because of any partiality or prejudice on God’s part. It is because of each person’s spiritual failure.
God’s bottom line is redemption through Christ which results in the eternal inheritance for all the redeemed.
