“by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant” (Hebrews 7:22).
God’s promise to Abraham at Mount Moriah was a sure guarantee that Christ and His gospel would come to this world. The divine promise of Jehovah to David’s Lord (i.e., the Christ) was another sworn pledge made by God.
One of the reasons Jesus came to this earth was to keep/fulfill God’s word. The sworn oath of Psalm 110:4 made Jesus the fulfillment of the pledge made by God to bring into this world a better covenant than the one given to the Jews at Mount Sinai. If Jesus did not come, God would have reneged on His word.
Because God’s oath included His unrelenting promise that Jesus would be a priest forever, Jesus is also the surety/guarantee that there will never be another divine covenant after His new covenant.
Therefore, Islam’s claims that it is God’s final religion for humanity is false. Jesus, not Mohammed, is God’s surety of His better and final covenant.
