“for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him: “The Lord has sworn and will not relent, ‘You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek’” (Hebrews 7:21).
Ever heard the religious myth which tells the tall tale that Jesus is going to return to earth and reign for a thousand years, and during this millennium the temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt and animal sacrifices offered by the sons of Aaron will resume?
God’s word in many places teaches otherwise, and Hebrews 7:21 is one of those places.
By definition, the word “forever” does not mean “until the end of the age minus a thousand years”! “Forever” means “forever”. There is no additional time after “forever”.
Since God’s word says Jesus is a priest forever according to the order of the king-priest Melchizedek, every teaching which implicitly denies the forever-ness of Jesus’ priesthood (as the myth of premillennialism does) is false.
“A priest forever” is truth. “A priest forever minus a thousand years” is false.
You have God’s word on it.
