“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister” (Hebrews 6:10).
Contemplating God’s righteousness is sobering (see yesterday’s post). It is also heartening, especially in light of His mercy and grace.
Because of Christ’s atoning sacrifice, God has a just/righteous way He can be merciful to our unrighteousness (Romans 3:23-26) and thereby remember our sins and lawless deeds no more (Hebrews 8:12). In Christ, divine forgetfulness is offered.
God’s righteousness is also heartening, because He will not forget a Christian’s work and labor of love done in service to Him. Unlike Allah who focuses on your misdeeds and forgets your good deeds, Jehovah offers in Christ His divine forgetfulness of your misdeeds and a total recall of all your good deeds.
Divine forgetfulness of your unrighteousness and divine un-forgetfulness of your righteousness!
It sounds too good to be true, but it is true, because God is not unjust.
